As part of our Victorians topic band literacy, we have looked at a real life crime and punishment case, involving a man called John Walker, who was arrested for stealing onions. We looked at the key features of persuasive speech writing and then in pairs, planned and wrote a speech to persuade a jury that John Walker was innocent of guilty.  We held a court case where children could put forward their cases.
