When we were outside today we found a lost racing pigeon. He was very wet and cold. We knew he belonged to someone because he had a yellow and green tag on his foot. Mrs Howard very carefully picked up the pigeon and put him in a box. On one of the tags was a phone number, Mrs Hurcombe rang the number and a lovely man answered who lived in Liverpool. He explained that he races pigeons and he had six pigeons flying back from France and only four made it back home. Luckily we found one of the pigeons. We will keep him safe until his owner comes to collect him.  The children have been very excited and enjoyed looking on google maps where France, Featherstone and Liverpool are  around the world.
